The UTM parameters of a QR code: source qr-code, medium sticker, campaign window.

UTM tracking

Why it helps

  • Campaign by campaign

Know which print brings visitors and conversions.

  • Nothing to type

Defaults set once, the campaign follows the code's name.

  • Works everywhere

    Standard utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign parameters.

01

Standard UTM parameters

QR Manager adds utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign to the destination of each code. Your analytics tool attributes the visit to the right campaign, with nothing else to set up.

02

Defaults, then code by code

Set a default source and medium for all new codes (for example qr-code and print), and let the campaign follow the code's address. Adjust any code when it needs its own values.

  • Defaults in Settings
  • Campaign follows the slug
  • Override per code

Use cases

How teams use it day to day, with a concrete example for each.

  • Marketing teams

See print next to online campaigns in the same dashboard: sessions, engagement and conversions coming from each QR code.

    • Source, medium and campaign set automatically
    • Same reports as online campaigns
    • Conversions, not just scans

    Exampleyoursite.com/qr/spring-flyerutm_campaign=spring-flyer

  • Shops and retail chains

Tag store signs and receipts with their own medium, and measure the online sales they drive.

    • medium=store-sign or receipt
    • Compare stores and supports
    • Attribute sales to print

    Exampleyoursite.com/qr/store-signutm_medium=store-sign

  • Agencies

Show clients what their print materials bring, in the analytics tool they already use.

    • Client-ready reports
    • Works with GA4 and Webflow Analytics
    • Defaults set once per site

    Exampleyoursite.com/qr/client-posterutm_source=qr-code

  • Events

Tell apart posters, badges and screens on site: each support gets its own campaign or medium.

    • One medium per support
    • Before and during the event
    • Change UTM after printing

    Exampleyoursite.com/qr/stage-screenutm_medium=screen

Questions

Does it work with Google Analytics 4?

Yes. GA4 reads the standard UTM parameters and shows the visits under the matching source, medium and campaign.

Can I change the UTM after printing?

Yes. The parameters are part of the destination, which you can change anytime.

What is the difference with scan statistics?

Scan statistics count scans in QR Manager; UTM parameters follow visitors in your analytics, up to conversions.
