Static vs dynamic
A regular (static) QR code contains the final link: once printed, it can never change. A dynamic QR code contains a short, permanent address. When someone scans it, that address sends them to the destination you chose, which you can change at any time.
With QR Manager, the image you print never changes, while the destination behind it can change as often as you need.
The address in your code
Every code has an address made of a domain and a short slug:
| Where the code lives | Address printed in the code |
|---|---|
| A Webflow site connected to QR Manager | yoursite.com/qr/menu |
| Your space hosted by QR Manager | qr-manager.fr/qr/k7x2pq/menu |
The slug (menu) comes from the code’s name when you create it. It is locked afterwards: changing it changes the image.
What happens at each scan
- The phone opens the address printed in the code.
- The page reads the code’s current destination and status.
- The visitor is sent to the destination, in their language on multilingual sites.
- The scan is counted, anonymously: no cookie and no IP address kept.
On a Webflow site, step 2 and step 3 happen on your own site: your codes do not depend on our servers, even if QR Manager stopped. Codes hosted by QR Manager are redirected by qr-manager.fr.
Change, pause, archive, delete
- Change the destination: printed codes follow right away.
- Turn off: the page shows an “inactive” message instead of redirecting. Turn it back on anytime.
- Archive (Webflow sites): the code’s page goes offline but the code is kept. Restore it with the same address.
- Delete: the code is gone for good; printed copies lead to a missing page.
Which domain to choose
Use your own Webflow site when you want codes on your brand’s domain and in your CMS. Use the hosted space to start right away without a site. Both work with every tool: customer area, Webflow, Figma, Canva, Adobe Express, Google Slides and the Mac and Windows app.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static QR code contains the final link itself, so it can never change once printed. A dynamic QR code contains a short, fixed address that redirects to a destination you can change at any time, and each scan can be counted.
Do QR Manager codes expire?
No. A code works as long as its address answers. Codes on your Webflow site are redirected by your own site; codes hosted by QR Manager are redirected by qr-manager.fr.
What happens if I pause or delete a code?
A paused (turned off) code shows an "inactive" message instead of redirecting, and works again when you turn it back on. A deleted code leads to a missing page.
